A Few Quick Things
If you're in NYC, check out that Rats Reading tomorrow! Flyer is a few post down.
AWP is a week and a few days away. Table 286, baby! We'll see ya there--and I'm kinda stoked to pick up Prairie Fever by Mary Biddinger. Also want to find a million other things I haven't read yet.
Apparently I'm starting a snow-shoveling business. I'll clear out your driveway for $20 and a bottle of Maker's Mark (that's the word down by Mattis St). Limited time only. We're creepin' around the high forties this week....

Because I Love You All
Here's little poem, on this day, by William Matthews...not in a bitter kinda way. I just really like the guy. And love you too!
Old Girlfriends
I thrust my impudent
cock into them
like a hand raised in class.
What they knew that I didn't learn
was not to ask:
one participates.
To say one is "in love"
says everything:
the tongue depressor breaks
into flame.
To say "one" is in love
means me, hero of all these poems,
in love as in a well
I am the water of.

Couple of Local Readings
I'm late on this, but Camille Dungy was around here yesterday. Give that a click, and you can hear some poems on Fishhouse. And pick up her What to eat, What to Drink, What to Leave for Poison. I think we got permission to read it in any order we'd like. Enjoy it.
Today at 4:30, 2nd Floor of IUB, Dave Eggers is reading. McSweeney's, Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, ya know.
VOICE kicks off at Paradiso Caffe, Feb 15th.
It's cold out there, but dig what ya can.

Micah's New Blog
Between white russians, the Bukowski documentary, a giant roast sandwich with sauteed onions, fresh mozzarella, and just a touch of hot pepper, Pan's Labyrinth, and the usual laughs, Micah Farritor decided to make a new blog:
Click it, baby. And check back often as he brings it up to snuff. He's a busy man. Gots a wife and bunny to feed.
